A conversation...
New work including an installation. This show will happen at the Kingston Gallery, 450 Harrison Avenue, Boston MA 02118 from Sept 29-October 31, 2010 www.kingstongallery.com. The collaboration is between fiber artist, Janet Kawada, and painter, Charlotte Lockwood.
The conversation began many years ago coalescing into a formal collaboration last year. Ms. Lockwood, in her 90's, was intrigued with the crossover that occurs when two people of similar background but different materials can blend their focus and merge their hands to obscure the origin of the work. Kawada, always ready to push the boundaries of medium and process had approached the painter to move from canvas to other materials. She listened, interpreted and discussed.
