Shower Thoughts: Collaboration with Autumn Kawada
Autumn and Janet Kawada collaborate in Shower Thoughts. In the spring of 2025, Autumn Kawada, age 14, and Janet Kawada, age 71, were sitting discussing Autumn’s “Shower Thoughts”. You know, those ideas you ponder while you are taking that long, warm shower and your mind can wonder. Over the last five years they had talked about different ideas that would pop into Autumn’s head. But this year, the thoughts seemed more pertinent and more philosophical. So, with Autumn’s permission, Janet, Autumn’s grandmother, embroidered granddaughter Autumn’s thoughts onto Janet’s grandmother’s textiles: from granddaughter to great, great grandmother, 5 generations, a span of over 100 years.
